First Graders Visit the DCS Central Office

First graders had a great visit!

KENANSVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA- April 12, 2017- Three groups of first graders from Warsaw Elementary School visited the Duplin County Schools Central Office and met with Superintendent Dr. Austin Obasohan and other leaders today. The visit was part of an educational outing to several locations in Kenansville.  It helped students understand the NC social studies curriculum objective that focuses on leaders in the home, at school, and in the community.

Dr. Obasohan welcomed the students and encouraged them to continue learning and working hard.  Students then enjoyed brief presentations explaining how Human Resources, Finance, Federal Programs and Athletics, Digital Learning, and Career and Technical Education support teachers and students in DCS.

The first graders learned new information and seemed to really enjoy sharing their knowledge with Dr. Obasohan at the end of the program.

“These students were so impressive,” said Dr. Obasohan. “They listened attentively and asked great questions. They want to learn and be successful. It was a pleasure sharing with them just how much our Board of Education and the entire DCS family is here for them and how much they are loved.”
