Erica Jones Earns Regional, State Instructional Management Coordinator of the Year Award

KENANSVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA- August 4, 2017- Erica Jones, Career and Technical Education Instructional Management Coordinator (IMC) for Duplin County Schools (DCS), has been selected as the State IMC of the Year. The announcement was made recently during the Instructional Management Division Meeting and Awards Luncheon held in Greensboro.
Jones, also the Southeast Regional IMC of the Year, was lauded for her dedication, leadership, and eagerness to collaborate with colleagues, among other attributes. Tarla Smith, DCS Special Advisor for CTE/STEM/and Innovative Programs, says that Jones provides a critically vital service for teachers and students.
“Having served in multiple CTE capacities during her educational career as well as possessing an extensive knowledge of career development has holistically equipped Mrs. Jones to provide exceptional instructional support for our teachers thus impacting competency attainment in our students,” said Smith. “She is a team player, utilizing her organizational and advanced technological skills to manage efficiently all of the IMC responsibilities.”
Stephen Kelly, State Instructional Management Consultant with the NC Department of Public Instruction, says Jones has become a leader among her peers and across the state. “She organizes regional meetings, pays attention to detail, and has given local and state level professional development. Erica exemplifies our role of Instructional Management Coordinator, and I look forward to work with her this year in moving our division and state forward.”
