DCS earns Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting
KENANSVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA- May 14, 2019- The Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting has been awarded to the Duplin County Board of Education by Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for its comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR). The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.
Superintendent, Dr. Austin Obasohan expressed his appreciation for this recognition. “On behalf of the Board of Education, I would like to thank our Finance department, school bookkeepers, and all staff responsible for budgets. We sincerely appreciate the hard work and diligence you put forth each and every day.”
