DCS Reopening Plan Update
Thank you for your continued patience and support as we all work to help move our district forward during this challenging time. We are eager to see our students and get them back in our schools in a safe and healthy way. We understand that you have questions and wonder what will happen in the 2020-21 school year.
As you know Governor Cooper and the State Board of Education have shared 3 plans for school reopening. Plan A has 100% of our students back in school buildings. Plan B allows up to 50% of students to be present in school buildings at one time and Plan C has 100% of our students in remote instruction. While we wait on additional state guidance, our staff continues to develop local plans for all 3 options so we can support our students and meet their social, emotional academic needs for next school year regardless of the challenges that COVID-19 may present.
We appreciate your patience and understanding in this challenging process. In addition, we are so thankful that our Board of Education continues to put the health and safety of students and staff first. If any of our parents have questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact the Parent Affairs department at 910-296-6623. We are here to support you in every way and will continue to keep you updated on the 2020-21 Duplin County Schools Reopening Plan.
