Duplin Faith-Based Leaders Organize District Bus WiFi Rotation

Faith-Based Leaders Organize District Bus WiFi Rotation

In order to provide additional hotspot access for students and families, Duplin County Faith-Based Leaders are organizing rotations for buses equipped with a hotspot, to be stationed at eight church parking lots each week across the district. This opportunity will expand the number of locations where WiFi can be accessed. At present, there are more than 25 churches who have graciously agreed to host WiFi buses during weekly rotations. The list of weekly scheduled locations will be regularly updated and posted online at under “Free WiFi Access Locations.” The continued partnership with our faith-based community is truly a blessing and their commitment to increase WiFi access locations for our students and families is greatly appreciated.

Mr. Kevin Smith, Assistant Superintendent for Accountability/Improvement Systems, shared, “We are very grateful to Committee Chair Reverend Paul Dean, each advisory committee liaison, area churches, the DCS Transportation Department, and the DCS Technology Department for their tireless efforts to bless our students in this unique way. This unified approach provides expanded opportunities for digital connections to coursework across the district.  We also thank our Board of Education and Dr. Obasohan for the clear vision and support to ensure we provide our students with access to the best learning experiences possible.”
