North Carolina Will Continue Providing Benefits Through P-EBT Program
North Carolina will continue providing additional benefits through the (P-EBT) program
North Carolina announced it will continue to provide additional benefits through the Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) program to help families purchase food for children whose access to free and reduced-priced meals at school has been impacted by virtual learning for the 2020-2021 school year due to COVID-19.
Since all Duplin County Schools students are eligible for school meals at no cost, each student will receive P-EBT benefits. Benefits will be determined based on students learning mode (100% remote or hybrid learning) each month. Starting in February or March, benefits will be issued retroactively. Benefits issuance will be staggered over several days each month. Please click here for more information on the P-EBT program.
The program provides a benefit on an Electronic Benefit (EBT) card. An EBT card acts like a credit card and can be used to buy food at authorized food and grocery retailers, including most major grocery stores.
