Excitement was definitely in the air as students returned to school for the 2023-24 school year. Beginning their routes before the sun came up, bus drivers, like Ms. Shanita Russell made sure that students across the district were welcomed with encouraging words and a friendly smile. Ms. Russell is just one example of the many bus drivers across the county that wake up early and load their buses to make sure that the first interaction with their students is a positive one. Cabinet members that rode the bus today reported the same excitement and were impressed with the drivers’ positive attitude towards the student’s first day back.

Every year since 2010, Dr. Obasohan has made sure that he has the opportunity to ride a bus on the first day of school to share in this excitement, and today proved that again! We appreciate all of our drivers and salute them for what they do for kids every day.
