Kenansville, NC- August 19- A
large group gathered around the flag pole in front of Duplin County
Schools' Central Office to pray for blessings on the new school year.
The annual Prayer Service at the Flag Pole is organized and led by
Duplin County Faith-Based leaders and is open to the community. Today
the Faith-Based leaders, led by the Superintendent's Faith-Based
Advisory Committee Chair Rev. Paul Dean prayed for teachers, students,
administrators, government officials, the 2014-15 school year and more.
The prayer service is held yearly at noon on the first day teachers come
back to work after summer break.
“Our
school system is truly blessed to have these wonderful Faith-Based
leaders praying and working on behalf of our entire organization. We
are so grateful to Pastor Paul Dean for serving as the chairman of this
committee this year and for his leadership,” said Superintendent Austin
Obasohan. “Prayer for our schools, teachers, and students has gone on
in this community for many, many years. It is the reason Duplin County
Schools and Duplin County as a whole continues to thrive.”
