I am Panamanian, I have been married for 23 years, and I have two children, Sofia (20) and Carla (18).
I received my Bachelor's Degree in French at Universidad de Panama. I also have a Diplôme d'Études au Centre de Linguistique Appliquée at Université du Franche-Comté, France. I got the Diplômes DELF et DALF at the Alliance Française in Panama. I obtained the ESL and Spanish Certification through ECU.
I have taught foreign languages (French, English, and Spanish) at Our Lady of Lourdes' HS, Saint Jude Tadeus' HS, French Alliance (Language Institute), Northside HS, Beaufort Co. Community College, Spring Creek HS, and Wallace-Rose Hill HS.
I have 29 years of experience teaching in high schools; however, I have also had the opportunity to teach French to PreK-8 students and seniors citizens.
Improving and updating is essential in this profession. Looking for it, I have traveled to different countries, such as Nicaragua, El Salvador, and France for training. For pleasure, I have visited cities like Paris, Versailles, and Dijon in France; and Geneva in Switzerland. I have also served as a tourist guide in my home country Panama.
I also understand my responsibility as a Christian; therefore, I am very active in my church. Currently, I am a member of the Child and Youth Protection trainers.
I am very proud of my Panamanian Culture, so I show a little bit of it as a member of the traditional dance team Expressions of Panama. We have been invited to participate in several counties, here in NC, where people have enjoyed our performances.
