GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - WITN is proud to highlight some of the incredible educators who inspire our students across the East, all thanks to your nominations. This week, we want you to meet Amy Bostic.

Amy is a 5th-grade teacher at BF Grady Elementary School in Duplin County.

With 17 years of experience in education, Amy has taught several grade levels but has spent most of her career inspiring and guiding 5th-graders.

She says she loves the unique balance 5th grade offers students, as they are mature enough to think critically while also young enough to embrace creativity and hands-on learning with enthusiasm.

Amy strives to create an environment where students feel supported, challenged and excited to explore new ideas.

Amy says her students inspire her every day with their growth, questions and “lightbulb moments.”

Amy’s class is also involved in taking care of their class pet, Willow Grace Rabbit.

Her goal is to help students not only build their academic skills, but also recognize their personal responsibility.
