2025 Rising Stars High School Art Show

Duplin County Schools celebrated the creativity and talent of its students on Monday, November 24, during the annual Rising Stars High School Art Show. Students showcased their creativity through a wide range of artistic media as they developed their own interpretations of the theme, “Mountains to Sea.” The event highlighted exceptional work from high school artists across the district and demonstrated the strength of visual arts education in Duplin County.

A panel of judges selected 11 Rising Stars winners, whose artwork will be professionally displayed at the Cameron Art Museum in Wilmington this February. This exciting opportunity allows students to share their work with a broader audience while representing Duplin County Schools on a prestigious artistic platform.

“Our arts programs are a critical component of STEAMA, and they reflect the creativity, problem-solving, and innovation we want for every student,” said Nicole Murray, Chief Officer for STEAMA Curriculum and Instruction. “We are incredibly proud of our talented young artists, and we are grateful to the Cameron Art Museum for providing our students with the opportunity to showcase their work in such an inspiring space.”

The district extends its appreciation to Duplin County’s high school art teachers for their guidance and support, as well as to the families and community members who continue to champion arts education.
