Kenansville, NC - This spring, Duplin County's talented middle and high school students took center stage in two unforgettable celebrations of the arts: the 2025 All-County Band and All-County Chorus Cultural Arts Festivals.

The All-County Band Festival was held on March 28 at Wallace-Rose Hill High School, showcasing the remarkable musical talent within our district. Middle school band students performed under the direction of guest clinician Vevlyn Lowe, while high school students were led by guest clinician Brian McMath. The event not only highlighted outstanding musical performances but also featured an impressive showcase of high school visual art, giving attendees a glimpse into the creative spirit of Duplin County Schools.

On April 4, the All-County Chorus Festival took place at East Duplin High School. The middle school chorus, conducted by Lindsay Williams, with accompaniment by Adriana Mejia, delivered a captivating performance. The high school chorus performance was directed by Dr. Jose Rivera and accompanied by Melodee Wynne, also left the audience spellbound. This evening also included a vibrant K–8 art exhibit, featuring student artwork from across the district.

"These festivals are a testament to the dedication and talent of our students and educators," said Superintendent Dr. Obasohan. "The arts play a vital role in fostering creativity, critical thinking, and self-expression. We are incredibly proud of the achievements showcased during these events, and we are committed to continuing to support and celebrate the arts in Duplin County."

Both events were powerful reminders of the importance of arts education and the incredible talent found in our schools.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to all the students, directors, staff, and families for their support and dedication in making these special events possible. Your commitment to the arts continues to enrich our community and inspire future generations.
