Kenansville, North Carolina- Each year, Duplin County Schools celebrates Agriculture Awareness Days in November and February to honor the vital role of agriculture in Duplin County and beyond. On the most recent Agriculture Awareness Day, held Friday, November 8, 2024, schools across the district engaged students in hands-on activities that explored various aspects of agriculture.
From learning how corn is converted to feed, interacting with various farm animals, and examining farm equipment, students participated in a range of interactive sessions. Local businesses and universities contributed to the event, offering insights through presentations, farm animal showcases, and more. These activities provided valuable, real-world learning experiences, helping students connect with the agricultural industry.
Agriculture Awareness Day is a special time for the district to foster appreciation for agriculture’s role in our community and to introduce students to potential career paths in this essential field. Through these experiences, students gain a deeper understanding of agriculture's impact and its possibilities for their futures.
