Kenansville, NC - High school Agriculture and Foods teachers, middle grades CTE teachers, and select science teachers recently visited James Sprunt Community College to learn about its new hydroponics program. Led by instructor Katlyn Foy, the visit allowed teachers to explore modern hydroponic gardening techniques and discover how these sustainable practices are taught at the college level.
The experience offered valuable insights that teachers can incorporate into their own classrooms, enriching students’ understanding of innovative agriculture practices and potential career pathways. This hands-on exposure equips educators with fresh knowledge to inspire future growth in agricultural and environmental sciences.
